Readynas 104 Volume empty after Clean-up
Hello, since some weeks my Raid-Configuration is degraded, because the primary disk (3TB) failed in my 4 bay configuration with 2x3TB and 2x4TB in total. The HDD is physicaly damaged and can't b...

Hi,
well thanks for your answers.
Finally I found a solution.
I dind't pay the 75€, because I think this won't guarantee me to get the data back. I also didn't buy any expensive programs you find with google when you search for "btrfs recovery tool".
After reading and understanding how btrfs works (this filesystem is used by Readynas in X-Raid mode) I tryied out the "btrfs restore /dev/md126 /media/USB_HDD_1" command. You just need to attach a USB harddrive to your Readynas and with the command all data (with proper folder structure) are copied to your USB harddisk (don't need to format the harddisk to btrfs or so on - just used ntfs).
That's all.
So to everyone having trouble with a corrupt filesystem - try this out. It worked for me fine. No files are damaged.
I'm not sure what's the reason for my filesystem corruption but I expect that during the clean-up btrfs function the Readynas OS killed it somehow.
Right now I try to sell the Readynas and I will never come back to Netgear (storage) products.
Cheers

Hello MarkF_93,
I'm sorry to hear this this.
Please contact support center. This is a possible data recovery service contract too.
Welcome to the community!

Hi,
I already tried it. Because my Readynas is out of "Software Warranty" they want me to pay. But I'm not sure if they will really fix it. If not I lost 75€ and a lot of time.
Can anybody help with this?
Thanks

If you don't have a backup, then I think your best strategy is to pay the 75€

Hello MarkF_93,
I understand but it seems that is your only way. The support contract is required for expired support warranty, but once you pay for the service they will fix the issue you raised with best effort they can provide or at least give you the details what caused it and how to prevent it from happening again if the issue is not fixable.
As always, if you have important data, do not store it in one device only. We always recommend to always have full backup.
