ReadyNAS 1100 and WD2002FAEX drives

Ok, I took out the third drive and rebooted it and it only showed one drive and kept hanging. So I took out the second drive, defaulted it and it came back. Stuck the second drive in and it hung again. Power off and back on (soft power had no effect) and it came back up but with only one drive. Hot unplugged the second drive and it said "Disk remove event occurred on SATA channel 2." even though it said no drives were present on channel 2.
I'm leaving this for another day, again.
