readynas 1100 web login

We have several readynas 1100s and I'm having trouble login in to the web interface. When I put the username and password in, I get this error:
"Authorization Required. This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required."

On one of the machines, I did a OS-reinstall and was able to reset the password to "admin" and "netgear1" but when I change the password and log back in, I get the same error message. All 5 of our readynas 1100 units have the same issue. I was able to login to the web interface a while ago but not anymore. Resetting the unit every time I need to log in to it doesn't seem right. Any ideas?

What version of RAIDiator is on each of the units? You can check this under the Info (far right) column in RAIDar

What web browser and version are you using? Have you updated to a newer version of your web browser recently?

  • we have some on version 4.1.4 and some on 4.1.12. I tried to log in using IE 10, IE9, Firefox, and Chrome. All browsers gave the same error message.

Do you get the error if you directly connect the NAS to your PC?
  • No, only when connected through the network. When I connected the readynas directly to a pc, I was able to login fine. But when I try to login through the network, I get the same error. Is there a port on our firewall that needs to be opened?

Odd. I wouldn't think the firewall should cause this problem. After all you are connecting to the NAS on your internal network. Frontview would make use of ports 80 and 443 on the NAS.
