StephenB, thank you for your reply!
I tried to update through the device software and it didn't find any newer version.
I do not have any apps installed.
I will try to upgrade according to the procedure you suggested to me and I will
inform you about the result.
Thank you very much for your help and your time!

StephenB, before updating I noticed at the log file that the problem started when HOSTNAME changed to nas-7C-1E-21

I am not an advanced user. I do not remember to change the HOSTNAME. I do not know if this is relative.
Do you have any suggestion about that change?
I will update to 10.6.4 anyway!
Than you again for your help!

The firmware has been updated to 10.6.4. Τhe problem still exists. The difference is that now except
do_exit+4dB on the display a blue light on the power button flashes.
The problem with the warning:system:LOGMSG_SENT_ALERT_MESG_FAILED solved by setting a
different email address. It is irrelevant to the main malfunction of the device.
After force power off the fan blows loudly for about 10 minutes. Then the fan operate at normal level.
Is there any suggestion?

It's not related to that hostname problem (or the email error).
But if you do want to change the hostname back, you do that from the system->overview tab on the web ui. Click on the current name of the NAS (which is a link), and you'll see a pop-up that lets you enter a new name.
Is the NAS still under warranty? The warranty is three years for the original purchaser.
One thing you can do is download RAIDar (which is installed on your PC). It will let you run a diagnostic on the NAS. https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads

StephenB, thank you for your help and for your time.
I had a contact with the technical department of the store that I bought the device.
They told me that this mulfunction has to be checked by them and they will promote
the device to a netgear service.
The bad news is that after a crash of a new WD hard disk that I used for the data back up
it costed to me 500 € get my data back from a data recovery company. When things are
bad they get worse.
The NAS is still under warranty until 29/12/2020. I don't know if they will cover me due to
covid delays on shipping.
I thought that with such a device I would be safe with my files but I hadn't took into account
the malfunction of the device itself.
After the responce of the service I will inform you for this message do_exit+4dB.

The technical from the store just informed me that they will replace
the device with a new one due to warranty. Netgear is not suuported
any more so I have to select another new device from another
manufacturer.
StephenB thanks.
Happy New Year!!!
