Readynas 214: performance down and Admin page extremely slow
Hi, I'm running a Readynar 214 with 4 6TB Hitachi disks, totaling about 16 TB in XRaid. Currently about 25% occupied. When trying to move the family foto-album (multiple TB) over from a NV+ ...

The NV+ was indeed getting too slow. That was the reason for getting the 214....
But I now have trouble accessing the Admin-pages, as well as trouble getting decent output towards the TV (4K files over DLNA).
The problem is not with the NV+

- Are you still copying the data?
- How are you doing that?
- How quickly is it being copied?

I have stopped copying the data to the 214 in order to get to the bottom of this issue first.
I was copying with Windows Explorer (win 10) and speeds were serously lacking: for instance: 5000 foto's of 3 to 5 Mb each took several hours!?

The 214 is now sitting in idle: no transfers of data in or out.
And still the Admin page is taking minutes to show (if it doesn't time out first)
And when it shows, it takes minutes to show another page (like the shares-page)....
When running a 'diagnostics' from RADar I got some minor problems on 1 disk: 207 reallocated, 4 Current Pending and 7 Uncorrectable sectors. But that shouldn't be a big problem, right?

That's not minor, disk 1 is failing. And that would explain performance issues on the NAS.
This is on the RN214?
Personally I won't use a disk if the sum of reallocated+pending sectors reaches 50. And if the sum starts to climb, I will order the replacement before it reaches that point.
