ReadyNAS 214 Won't Restart/Shutdown
Hi, I have a bit of an odd problem and admittedly you can only reproduce it after doing something quite specific. So if I have a .mkv file in one Share and I connect to the NAS via Windows Explo...

Buxton, I've been trying to reproduce your issue, but I've been unable to so far. Are the two shares you are copying between on the same volume? What version of Windows are you using?
I've been testing with Windows 10, and with both shares on the same volume, copying a set of about 30 ~1-2GB files between shares.

BTW, here's a little trick for copying files between shares. If you log in to the NAS as the "admin" user from Windows Explorer, you should see a share called "data" (assuming your data volume is still named "data"). If you copy files between the share directories under the "data" share, it will happen almost instantly, and the copies will consume no additional space.

Hi, Yeah the two Shares are on the same volume called "data". One is a Transmission share and the other is a share for videos. I have the volume mounted as a network drive in Windows using the admin credentials, however it looks like Windows does try to copy it across as it gets to 12% then freezes and can even crash Explorer.

Hi,
Another update, I woke up this morning and the NAS was completely unresponsive, no SSH, no Admin page or RAIDar so I had to hard reboot the device. It came back up completely fine though and now works OK but i'm unsure to why its doing it as the journal doesnt show anything which could have caused it, in fact the logs run right up to the reboot.
The only thing which is there which wasn't the other day when I sent logs in, is a loooot of this:
Mar 20 08:38:32 NAS minissdpd[2921]: sendto(udp_notify=6, http://192.168.1.125:10000/nasService.xml): Invalid argument
Is that common?
