ReadyNAS Pro auto restart after shutdown #23710144

Hello,

I have the following issue: when I shutdown my ReadyNAS Pro Business Edition (via Frontview or via the front panel button), after a few seconds, it restarts. So, except by turning it off using the back panel switch, I cannot shut it down.

I tried to disable the power timer, to reinstall the firmware (last version is installed: 4.2.26) but it doesn't solve the problem.

Warranty period is finished.

Please, can you help me?

    Could be a PSU issue.

The warranty on the Pro BE is 5 years from the date of purchase.

Have you tried powering off the NAS, disconnecting the power, waiting a while then reconnecting the power?
  • Have tried powering off the NAS, disconnecting the wall plug for a while, reconnecting it and restarting the NAS. Miracle, after shutting it down using the front panel button, no more auto restart! Thank you!

What is exactly the root cause of problem? Do I have to do something to avoid the problem in the futur?

It can be due to a flaky power supply unit. If the problem comes back it probably needs replacing.

There have been threads about this.
  • Do you know where I can order a new PSU for my ReadyNAS Pro Business Edition?
  • Good news, my ReadyNAS Pro Business is still under garantee.
Case 23710144 created in order to replace the PSU.
