ReadyNas 312 - Initial Setup Problems
Hi there,
Im hoping the forum can help. I've been googling the problem and I have found a couple of threads but none seem to match the problem I'm having.
I have recently bought a diskless RN312 (I have a drive on the way). I set it up and connected it to my router (A Virgin Media 'Super'Hub). I then powered the NAS on and opened up ReadyCloud as directed.
The blue power light on the front of the machine flashes blue initially (presumably as it starts up) and then turns solid blue. It then after about 5 secs starts flashing again. When I click discover in the ReadyCloud it won't find the device. I have powered off and on a few times but nothing happens. I have also tried pressing and holding the backup button for 5 secs and then try to rediscover but no effect.
I have checked in the router settings and it can see the drive connected and the IP address it has (I have tried using a browser to go directly to the IP address but there is no response).
I have installed RAIDer and it can see the drive but won't let me connect to it to setup or perform any actions.
I have switched off Firewall on the router in case that was causing problems. Is there anything else I could try? For what its worth I am using a Macbook - Not sure if thats relevant though.
Any suggestions?
Thank you
Andy

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou need a disk installed in the NAS for it to work. You should see the error "No disks detected" in the Info (far right) column in RAIDar.
Welcome to the forum! - andyjmurphyAspirantA quick public thanks mdgm
