We needed to upgrade a client from their existing 2Tb Raid 1, to a 6Tb Raid 1. I verified that the WD Black 6Gbs were in the acceptable (compatible: http://kb.netgear.com/20641/ReadyNAS-Hard-Disk-Com...

Just manually triggered the RAID array to expand to use the additional space on the disks. Once this is complete the volume should then expand.

A resync is now taking place. The volume should then expand.

BE PATIENT, the procedure is somewhat long!
NG nerds should warn users that it is taking quite some thours and to complete the procedure days!
From 8 to 14 To, it tokk me a week.
1 raid 1 array 4 to 6To
2x 1 raid 1 array 2 to 4 To!

My problem wasn't patience waiting, it was that it wasn't doing anything. No resync, no expansion in progress, no nothing :) Fortunately, mdgm-ntgr is a lifesaver :)- aalexandrebetaFeb 07, 2017Master
