ReadyNAS 314 access from Mac extremely slow

Checking for updates didn't do anything for me. So I had to download and then upload myself. At first got an error message then the upload worked. Was able to move up to 6.8 and get the new SMB options. Applied the Enhance MacOS and now we're testing to see if it will make a difference. I appreciate all of the support from everyone. With an RN314 you can upgrade directly to 6.8.0. You should try the "Check for updates" first, as that is simpler.
You can also use the x86_64 link here: https://kb.netgear.com/000045831/ReadyNAS-OS-6-Software-Version-6-8-0 and download the zip. Extract the image file from the zip, and upload the firmware using the manual control on the system->settings page.
If you have any apps installed, it would be prudent to uninstall them, and reinstall when you are done. Some apps created issues with the newer kernels.
Either way, you should review the known issues in the link above before you upgrade.
