ReadyNAS 3200
I've just got a ReadyNAS 3200 with 6 x 1TB Hitachi HUA722010CLA330 drives, and I've run an IOMeter test from my desktop to the server using the iometer.icf file found on http://www.readynas.com/?p=310...

It could also be the combination of course. If I had to pick one to enable, I think in your application I would pick teaming. Though I generally am not a fan of jumbo frames anyway, the gain doesn't seem worth the pain.

However I'm getting somewhere, I have disabled the Jumbo Frames option and disabled the link-aggregation and changed it from IEEE 802.3ad LACP to just a simple single-failover setup. So far, I haven't had a latency spike bigger than 18ms which is a massive improvement. Now I just have to figure out which of these settings was causing it! (My moneys on the IEEE 802.3ad LACP)
Anyway, I'm glad you are getting somewhere.
