Readynas 3220 - What is recommended volume maintenance schedule (scrub, balance, defrag)

Weekly defrag and balance. Scrubbing could be done say every 2-3 months or even longer. Scheduled maintenance should be run at a time when the NAS is used lightly. Scrubbing in particular will take quite some time.
I would suggest keeping volume usage to 80% (or less) of the volume capacity.Scheduled maintenance is important, but backups are even more so. There are problems that cannot be protected against.
If you use the NAS for primary storage of important data it is vital that you schedule regular backups e.g. to another ReadyNAS. Off-site backups are recommended too to provide some protection against fire, flood and theft.
