ReadyNAS 626x - VMWare Compatibile?

In the model description it has that it is certified and compatible with Vmware vSphere ESXi 6.0.

Is this for the back-end storage of esxi 6.0?

Or is there a license that can be applied to the ReadyNAS to make it a "stand alone" vShpere ESXi 6.0 server?

I'm trying to determine if this hardware is an all in one front-end in this scenario, or is just the back-end that can be used with ESXi 6.0.

Thanks Everyone!

As far as I can tell, the certification is for back-end storage.  Hopefully Netgear will clarify.

I've seen a couple of posts from folks who have gotten virtualbox running on a ReadyNAS, but nothing on VSphere.

It’s for back-end storage, the data store. You’d need an ordinary server for a ESXi host.
