Maybe I got lucky. I found a seller (Vanda Trading) on eBay with a 270W PS (item 156660240090) that has the exact pin out as the PDF diagram — pin 12 (blue) -12V and pin 18 (white) -5V have been modified to (yellow) +12V, and the listing indicates the PS is suitable for the 626X and 516 among many other Netgear NAS models. I wonder if this is one of the ones you indicated that won’t work because of the 4 pin connector?

I see that, as you have found, that vendor is now offering one that does have the 4-pin connectors. So I stand corrected, there is a pre-modified supply now available. With delivery from the UK, it will cost more than modifying one yourself for those not in the UK, but many would rather pay the extra than attempt the mod themselves.
