Global Spare
Since the latest update 6.7.1 OS 6 i see there is a new feature as my nas is already using Xraid i am not sure how this is of
benefit to my system could anyone share any light on this new feature from the image below does it show a spare as i
thought all my disks were intergrated into one volume ?

That option is greyed out as you're using X-RAID.
If you disabled X-RAID, destroyed your volume (wipes all data) and created e.g. a 5 disk volume, you could designate the 6th disk as a spare.
You could alternatively create a RAID-6 / dual redundancy volume. If you are ok with the slower write speed of RAID-6, it might be a better option - there would be no need to resync when a disk fails.

It just tells you the color code for a spare (which you don't have).
