Hi,
Yes sorry I do mean that.
Why would suggest that? The backup has been working fine for us for months.
Thanks

Rsync copies the actual files and the linux file attributes. CIFS/SMB doesn't necessarily do that. I think it also does a better job of incremental backups.

Did it immediately fail after you upgraded to 6.9.5?
One option is to reset the file permissions on both the source and destination shares. Have you tried that?
You could also upgrade to 6.10.0 (since that is now released) - but keep in mind that you won't be able to downgrade once you do that.
- FairtradeCocoMar 27, 2019AspirantHi,
I will try to reset the file permissions, do I just need to remove all permissions or re add them to the shares?
Thanks for you help so far

If you look at the file access tab for the share, you will see a "reset" control. I'm suggesting that you use that. It will reset the owner and permission of each file and folder in the share to match the share settings.
- FairtradeCocoMar 27, 2019AspirantThank you.
I have done that and also set up a separate rsync job to see if that runs any better. Will feedback with results in the morning
Thanks.
