ReadyNAS "Admin Page" is offline

Hi There.... been using an RN102 for about 2 years now but only intermittently update the firmware. updated last time to i think 6.7.1 but when updating to 6.7.4 the connention to the NAS would be very slow and sometimes drop out then come back again. so i installed the latest firmware at 6.7.5 hoping it would fix things but unfortunately did not.

after doing some digging i thought that the drives might have started failing so i did a balance but i think i stopped it while it was doing the balance... after this i tried to log in to the admin page but couldn't log in as it would say "page offline". after doing more digging on this forum, some people were suggesting doing an OS reinstallation so i tried this last night and waited a couple of hours before trying and yes... success... for about 3 minutes.... after logging into the https://(IP ADDRESS) using default username and password.... the loading bar would show me logging into the Nas for about 3-5 mins but comes up with a readynas admin page is offline

at the moment i'm at a loss and was hoping someone could take a look at my logs to see what i've done wrong or just to get this admin page back up and running. Thanks in Advance

MiX

all files are still viewable and it's actually working much quicker since 6.7.4

Yep I can get the logs using that.... but just didn't know who to send to

Hang onto them for now, hopefully a mod will ask for them.

    Does https://nas-ip-address/fwbroker respond?

If it does, you could try over-installing 6.7.5 (or even installing 6.8.0-T54 beta) that way.  If might solve the admin page problem.

RAIDar has a control to download the logs - did you try using that?

  • Thanks... Fwbroker was responding earlier this afternoon so I'll try and install the beta tomorrow and check back! Thanks so much for this..... I think just someone replying calmed my nerves a bit!

god i love you.... installed the beta and admin page came back online!

looks like my second disk was causing errors but not really sure why. buying another drive to replace but just a quick question... if i take out the second drive and replace it with a new drive, will it automatically sync the second drive properly?

Yes, as long as you are using XRAID or a FlexRAID mode with redundancy.  The new drive needs to be at least as large as the old one.

You can hot-swap with the NAS running.
