Are you saying this is new behavior (that it worked differently with Windows 7)???
I don't see how the WD Live issue can be linked to the Windows 8 upgrade - I am thinking something else has changed. Did you perhaps upgrade your NAS firmware recently? Is it set to autoupdate?
