I'm a newbie too, so take this comment with a grain of salt. :D
I did not find a restore option. After I backed up my entire NAS (volume C) to an attached USB drive, restoring basically involves manually copying the files back onto the NAS.
My initial backuo (811GB) took 23 hours. Be patient. :D
There is an option to backup the configuration of your NAS. I tried it, but could not find the file afterwards to restore it (my fault, Im a klutz). You may want to backup your configuration just in case.
