ReadyNAS Duo cannot access admin page or factory reset
I know this is quite an old system (purchased 2011) - but the optimist in me says that means everything has been fixed more than once right? After moving house it has took me a while to ge this u...

If the disks are zeroed, then it had to do a factory install. The NAS boots from the disks. There was no need for boot-menu options, all you really needed to do is power up again.
The default admin password for the NAS should be "netgear1". Is that what you are using?

The boot modes are on page 15-16 here: http://www.readynas.com/download/documentation/HM/Duov1_NV+v1_HW_en_30Nov11.pdf
One option is to connect the disks to a PC and test them with vendor diags (seatools, WDC lifeguard...) Include the test that zeros the disks. Assuming they pass, you can then insert them back into the duo and boot it up - it should do a factory install, since there disks will be unformatted.

Thank you for the response - as I only have a laptop, will those diag utils work through USB to SATA cabling?

Found a SATA / USB cable that worked with these WD Caviar Greens...
Both WD drives tested using lifeguard and zero'd. Also also quick test and SMART showed as OK.
Loaded back into the RND2110 with a double flash reset.
This still has not reset the password to allow me access to the admin pages.
Are there any other options from here? USB boot? USB firmware load?
