ReadyNas Duo Folder Permission Inheritance Problems
I recently picked up my 4th ReadyNAS Duo running firmware 4.1.10. The others run 4.1.8, 4.1.7, and 4.1.6 respectively for my employer.
We run a DVR solution that writes large amounts of security footage to the NAS drives. The latest drive has write issues though and the only thing we are finding is that the folder permission inheritance is not working correctly and I'm wondering if it could be a firmware issue.
The problem is that when I create a "share" and mirror the CIFS settings from the old drives no folder inheritance is listed like the other drives. The box remains unchecked under the security tab via a Windows machine.
My only thought is that this might be a firmware issues since all the settings match the other 3 NAS drives. Does anyone know where I might get old firmware versions? I see Netgear only offers the latest one.
Thanks.

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserYou can downgrade to 4.1.8 easily enough. Just google "Raidiator 4.1.8" and you'll find this release announcement with a download link: http://www.readynas.com/?p=5827
Download it, and install it manually via frontview.
This will work for any release, but you attempt to downgrade too far back you can run into problems. 4.1.8 won't be a problem though.
