ReadyNAS Duo not mounting LVM volume?

First - NO ReadyNAS is supposed to boot without at least one drive. Think of the flash memory as a typical OS install disk, the OS that the unit operates from is on the drives. No drives, no operating OS.
Second - In order to trigger the firmware re-install, the unit must be off and you must depress the micro switch behind the small hole on the back with a straighten paper clip while pressing the power button. You must hold the micro switch depressed until the first long (1 sec) flash of the lights at about 5 seconds. Do not hold for much longer.
