ReadyNAS Duo not mounting LVM volume?

I still don't seem to be getting the firmware to re-install. I tried holding only the reset switch and also holding the reset switch and the power button down.
I held them for 8 seconds but never got the single LED flash. The instructions say the factory reset occurs at 30 seconds; does that mean I could try 10-15 seconds safely? And do I hold just the reset or both?
