ReadyNAS Duo RND2000 V2 and Mac "Time Machine"
Would my ReadyNAS Duo RND2000 V2 be suitable for Mac Catalina "Time Machine" backups? Perhaps by letting Time Machine reformat? Not sure of the current ReadyNAS firmware version! Contains 2 x...

As I said, the labeling is confusing. You have the original Duo (called a v1 here). That other label means you have hardware revision 2 of the Duo v1. The Duo was launched in 2008, and Netgear stopped shipping it on late 2011.
Your Duo will be running 4.1.x firmware. The current version is 4.1.16 - if you are running something older you should update it.
One challenge with the Duo (either version) is that they are limited to SMB v1. That will create issues accessing network shares from both Windows 10 and (I think) Catalina. It's easy to re-enable SMB v1 in Windows - not sure what it takes with Catalina.

Hi, Stephen . . .
After spending several hours trying to get this working under Catalina - I've decided to abandon the task - I suspect the problem lies with SMB v1 and Apple's security! The unit I have will now be offered for sale (elswhere) and an up-to-date NAS solution purchased - I'll stick with NetGear, though.
Again - many thanks for your input/advice - BRs - Dave H.
