OS reinstall can be done from the duo front panel (http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how ... _boot_menu) Note you have a duo v1, so you need to scroll down to the "Duo / NV / NV+ / X6/600" section. You need to be careful not to do a factory default by mistake (which would wipe your data).

I'm (a) not sure how to do this and (b) not sure how I get access to the ReadyNAS to do it.
I've discovered if I hit the IP address of the NAS I can access the Shares directory (it sees none, there should be two) but nothing else
An OS reinstall will reset your admin password to netgear1, and will also reset the IP configuration to the default DHCP. Other settings and data should be preserved.
