ReadyNAS Duo V1 - Boot Problem

I have a problem with my NAS.

I have a ReadyNAS Duo v1 with 2 disk with capacity 2TB and RAID system.

After weekend disk don't start - RAIDar said: "System booting", blue LED flash and nothing else.

Thanks in advance

Try powering down, and removing the disks (labeling them by slot).  Then power up again diskless.  Let us know if RAIDar detects the NAS with a no-disk status.

Was the NAS powered down cleanly, or was the power lost (or disconnected)?

The next step is to test the disks.  The best approach is to connect the to a windows PC (either with SATA or a USB/SATA adapter/dock).  Then test them with vendor tools - Seatools for Seagate; Lifeguard for Western Digital.

Don't reformat or initialize the disks with Windows.  It won't recognize the format, but the vendor tools will find the disks anyway.

If you don't have an up to date backup, you can offload the data by installing r-linux for windows on the PC.  http://www.r-studio.com/free-linux-recovery/ It will only see the data files on one of the two disks (almost always disk 1).
