So I've managed to at least save my data from the disk. Now I'm trying to figure out what the deal with the duo is. Still the same "three seconds of blue power light followed by that turning off for good, and then only the first drive green led staying on without any blinking whatsoever" routine that's happened since the unit first failed.... regardless of whether both drives are in/one drive is in (either side), or no drives are in it. As an aside, I've read that the nas should boot and post a "no drives found" status to RAIDar, but mine doesn't even do that.
Since I'm so far out of warranty, I'm taking it apart to try and replace the internal 2032 battery. Considering it's > 5 years old, maybe that has something to do with it.
