But 192.168.168.XXX is a bit of an odd IP range. Generally, it's 192.168.1.xxx or 0.xxx for most consumer routers. Nothing wrong with using it, but since you are having some issues, I think it warrants double checking basic network configuration settings.
Is your router's LAN IP 192.168.168.1? If not, what is it?
What's the IP range setup in the DHCP server on the router? Also what subnet mask does it show?
What static IP and subnet mask are you trying to assign to the NAS?
Are you sure you have DCHP on the NAS disabled?
192.168.168.168 is address i get when i factory reset NAS, after that i i'm trying to change it to 192.168.11.9 with subnet of 255.255.255.0. I'm doing it locally, not connected on any router or anything.
Notebook is connected on switch, NAS is connected on switch, my NAS have default IP address, my notebook have 192.168.168.169, i can normally use gui, under a network i am entering ethernet settings and there are 2 options i can't recall exact name since at the moment i don't have NAS here but they are something like manually set address/automatic set address...no matter what i choose, what address i am setting default IP always stays.
What are you entering as the gateway address?
Thanks everyone for the help, for some reason i have managed to put static IP address on my NAS and it's working fine right now. Solution is one day i just entered IP address i want, pressed Apply and it works đ
