ReadyNAS Duo with APC ES 450 UPS
Goal: Protect Duo against improper shutdown due to power failure. Current situation: Duo power cord plugged into APC UPS unit along with some other hardware (external drives, monitor). UPS monitored...
It easier then you think.
What you need to do is connect power and usb cable from your UPS to your Nas and that's it.
You can also change the battery threshold when Nas should be powered down.
Option "Enable monitoring of UPS physically attached to a remote ReadyNAS" allows you to have 2 or more ReadyNas units (or PC) monitored and shutdown via network.
