readynas front page login problem

Hi everyone first post here. I am having difficulties in accessing the Readynas duo front page. After being able to access the frontpage perfectly well have saved the access page as an address bar favourite and was able to access it. I have updated the firmware after having problems installing a second 2TB drive and all is working fine now.

I have just been kindly given a Readynas duo and have installed 2 TB drives. I am accessing the NAS through my home wifi on a MBPro and the NAS itself is connected to the wifi router via an ethernet cable.

I am able to access it through the protocols AFP and SMB but I can't log into the Readynas frontage anymore. There has been a similar post here http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=68360

I seem to be able to get to the "shares" front page sometimes but I get this message :

A user name and password are being requested by https://192.168.0.3. The site says: "Control Panel" The control panel name and password is auto filled as admin and change me but don't work so I have tried the has password and username in this box and they don't work either.

If I use the SMB or AFP protocol to connect to the NAS and then try to access the frontpage 192.168.1.3 it takes me to the "MYSHARES" Readynas page and can only see shares and password tabs.

The frustrating thing is that I was able to get to the frontage and now I can't. Does anybody body have any suggestions to what I am doing wrong please

Much appreciated if anyone can help?

Scott

The control panel should use "admin" as the username, and the admin password for the NAS.

    What firmware are you running?
  • Thank you so much StephenB!

I tried just about every combo of username and password and that is the one that works.

I am able to get back into the front page.

  • I found that the problem is solved if I reboot the Mac and reboot the ReadyNAS. It may be a problem with cookies and Safari.
Sometimes if you doctor the URL to delete the "/admin" then it will refresh and display the admin login screen - sometimes it reverts to displaying the shares.
