ReadyNAS internal Backup cannot create certain directories
Ready NAS 214
Firmware 6.10.10
Dear Community,
I´ve got a problem during internal backup to a connected USB-Hardware-Drive.
I save about 1500 files without any problem, but then I´ve got some files the system is not able to copy.
The error message in the protocol is:
"Cannot create directory XXX/XXX 2023/GA 3611 - 23 VU XXXX !"
I`ve got a lot of these kind of files wich are all copied completley without any trouble.
But 9 files have the problem and I don´t understand what it is. I`ve already checked if the name of the file is different to others, but I can´t see any problem.
Maybe somebody facing the same issue and can help me how it was resolved.
Kind regards

How is the USB drive formatted?
Are you using the built-in internal backup (which uses CP), or are you using rsync?
Have you tried manually creating a folder with the same name?

Hello the USB drive is fromatted as FAT32.
I´m using the built-in internal backup and there are only 5 FILES that will not be backuped correctly.
I perform different backup types Incremental and Full during the week and the incremental all running smoothly.
The Full backup working perfectly for all the other files and folders (around 800) without any problem, but then there are the 5 files in different source folders which the system isn´t able to copy correctly.
I´ve also a lot longer file names without any problems.
Thank you.

Is the total path name >255 characters?
