ReadyNAS Management services offline (6.5.2)

Hello

I am experiencing very similar problems to that described in the topic: "ReadyNAS Management services offline after 6.5.0 update".  I was unable to try the fix as it seemed to be communicated in an PM, so I am forced to open a new discussion.

I have had my ReadyNAS 202 for a week now without any problems.  At the beginning I upgraded to 6.5.2, and started copying files to it from my computer and a locally connected USB2 drive.  Yesterday I connected a USB3 drive formatted with NTFS, and tried to copy data from it.  The system froze once, then once again after I did a cold reboot on it.

After my latest boot, the LED remains on and I can access files from all the shares.  If I try to connect to the Admin page via the IP address, I am requested for User Id and Password then it attempts to open the Admin utlity. The splashscreen shows version 6.5.2 and then appears to start loading the program, but invariably times out with an error message "ReadyNAS Admin Page is offline"

I have downloaded latest RAIDar. RAIDar shows the two drive as healthy but status shows "Management service is offline". I have downloaded the logs and there doesn't appear to be anything obviously wrong.

The system has 2 x 3TB Western Digital RED WD30EFRX drives, newly installed.

Many thanks for any help.

Matt

  • Somehow the DLNA config file on your system had some binary characters appended to the end, which confused the config parser.  I've fixed it up manually on your system, and this situation will also be handled gracefully in future firmware releases after 6.6.0.

Please send in the logs zip you downloaded using RAIDar (see the Sending Logs link in my sig).

Looks like you updated directly from 6.3.2 to 6.5.2

It appears you had some apps installed. Which ones?
