ReadyNAS Move to New Windows SBS Server 2012

Hello, I've got a Pro 4 running on my windows 2003 SBS that contains all of my user data. We are looking at installing a new windows 2012 SBS server and I'm wondering if there's going to be any issues with me plugging this device into the new server once it's setup and running or if I'll need to format drives for them to be seen on the new 2012 SBS.

Thanks for your help...Scott

I'm a bit confused on what exactly you mean, as the Pro is not running on the SBS, it is it's own independent device. Can you clarify?
  • Yes, that's correct it's not physically connected to the server.. I'm just wondering when I get the new SBS 2012 server up and running will I be able to just join the Readynas to the new domain and go on or if I'll need to do any reformatting etc to allow the SBS 2012 user access to it's data.

I hope that makes more sense.. Thanks Scott

You should just be able to join it to the new domain. If that fails, you should probably get support from support.netgear.com (or use the phone support if you are paying for that).

You might also try upgrading the Pro to the current release (4.2.23) before you upgrade the SBS server.
