readynas not providing power to bay 1
Hi, My readynas pro 4 will not reconise any drive i put in bay 1. This includes drives working fine in other bays. I dont beleive the drive is even spining up. (power issue?) I have tried hot ...

Could it be a patition issue,
i get the same issue with bay 2 when i hot swap a replacement drive.
it wont take new drive, but will rebuild on failing drive if i reinsert it.
Fontveiw still report old drive in bay 2, even tho ive replaced it.
my replacement drives are ex zfs volumes.

??? The NAS needs to reformat them when you insert them.

I don't think so. Though the new drives do need to have at least the same number of sectors as the old ones, otherwise they can't be added to the array.
You could try zeroing one of the replacements, powering down the NAS and inserting it in slot 1 with all other drives removed. Then see if the NAS does a factory install.
