ReadyNAS NV+ & CA Arcserver R16

Wonder if anyone has any ideas on this. We have a small environment, 7 users, with one server on Windows 2008 R2. AD is setup and running correctly. We have purchased CA Arcserve Backup Exec R16 and was going to set the NV+ as the main back up store for Arcserve to back up to instead of using tapes, is this possible ?

The idea is to connect the NV+ into a network port accross the road (small stock room) and have Arcserve and AD manage the NV+ instead of using 'NTI Shadow copy for ReadyNAS' , can this be done ?

Thanks

  • How would the ARCserve software manage the NAS? Will just make a connection to the box via say CIFS and then do the backups, or does something need to installed on the NAS itself? I don't know how ARCserve works.
