You'd enable NFS on the media shares in the NAS, and configure the PCH to use NFS.
If you are using share security on the NAS, there would be a password set up for each share (which all users accessing that share use). With user security, each user account has its own password. With user security, you tell Frontview which users / groups are allowed to access the share (and whether they have read/write access or just read access).
Share security is deprecated, because it has issues with newer versions of windows.
