ReadyNas NV+ bootup issue
Hi, let me introduce myself to the community, i am Bert. Though i am new to the community, i
have been using the ReadyNAS devices from the original creator. i own three 600's and two NV+'s. So on to my issue, recently i booted one of my NV+ running v4.1.15 and am getting this message on the front panal..it has 4x1gb seagate drives that were fine at some prior point.
Booting....
FS check... 13%
And it hasbeen at this point for the last 2 days.... any ideas to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Power itt on and hold the button for about 5 sseconds. You should see "skip volume check" on the display. If this boots you successfully, update your backup immediately, then look for a reason the volume check hung.
- BertDudeAspirantYes I did. It now on only shows Booting.

It's hard to say what's going on. Do you need to extract data saved on this NAS?
- BertDudeAspirantYes, I would like to pull off as much as I can

Either the data volume or the OS partition has been damaged somehow, otherwise it would have booted.
Are you skilled with ssh?
- BertDudeAspirantWith some direction, I can accomplish the results. I was an application developer, but not on unix.

You boot the NAS into tech support mode (page 23-24 here: http://www.readynas.com/download/documentation/HM/Duov1_NV+v1_HW_en_30Nov11.pdf )
Then you access the shell by telneting into the NAS. Information on that is here: http://netgear.nas-central.org/wiki/TechSupportMode
From there it gets harder - and into steps I haven't actually done myself. So I won't be able to guide you if things go wrong.
You can try to mount the OS partition using this: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/Readynas-NV-V1-Mounting-OS-partition-in-support-mode/m-p/894481/highlight/true#M48913
And you can try to mount the data volume using this
If that actually works, you can try to start samba using this:
And if that works, you are golden - you copy the data from your PC over the network.
Or you can connect a USB drive, mount it, and then copy the data with with the linux cp command.
- BertDudeAspirantThanks for taking the time to document this for me... I will attempt it this weekend and get back to you with the results.
