ReadyNAS NV+ fails in expantion...

Following problem:
I Have an ReadyNas NV+ with 4 x 500gig disks running last version firmware and Radiator vers. 4.1.10.
I wantet to upgrade to 4 x 2T disks.
All went well, but when the ReadyNAS had done 99.9% of the expantion, i got this message:
Disk capacity expansion error. resize2fs

then I got this two messages, and it went back to the 4x5gig size.:

Data volume expansion continuing after interruption.
and
RAID sync started on volume C.

The 2T disks was: Western Digital Red WD20EFRX 2 TB
Does anyone have a clue what to do?

    A few points.

WD20EARS disks are not on the compatibility list. You should have bought WD RED 2TB WD20EFRX disks instead.

Since you last did a factory default prior to upgrading to RAIDiator 4.x you cannot expand past 5TB but the NAS is trying to. You should backup your data and do a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) then restore data from backup.
  • I wrote wrong in my message, Western Digital Red WD20EFRX 2 TB,
But thank you for reply. I will do as you describe.

    Ah good.

Another issue you'd be running into (wouldn't prevent expansion though) is that you need to do a factory default on 4.1.7 or later to get 4k sector partition alignment. Without this write performance will be poor.
