READYNAS NV+ Files have been Damanged
The situation:
I have more than 150GB of data (doc, xls, pdf files) stored on my NAS and almost all of the files give me an error when I try to open them.
Message when trying to open a pdf:
"Adove Reader could not open file xxx.pdf because its either a not supported file type or because the file has been damaged."
Any ideas??
I have all my companies data on there.
Files are listed correctly with their file size.
Thank you for your time!

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDo you have a backup?
Have you tried contacting NetGear tech support (see Online Submission link in my sig). - giantpanosAspirantThank you for the reply!
Backup was giving me problems so never completed.
I have the NAS for aprrox. 2 1/2 years now so I don't think its under warranty.
I can submit a request online?
Can these files be fixed some how? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou can submit a request online. Whilst basic phone support is free for the first 90 days after purchase, online support is free (in some situations support may still need to charge a fee for support but you would be advised of your options if that's needed). By the way the warranty on an NV+ purchased 2 and a half years ago is likely to be three years. Certainly no less than that. If you registered the unit you should be able to see when the warranty coverage runs out.
If the files are corrupt it's doubtful if they could be recovered but see what support has to say.
It's possible you could have failing memory or some other issue that would help explain what's happening. I would refrain from writing to the system and avoid reading as well. - giantpanosAspirantThank you for the guidance!
Do you happen to have a link to post to support?
Thanks again!
