ReadyNAS NV+ initializing cyclically for 3 days, what to do?

Hello,   I have an quite old ReadyNAS NV+ station. I added a new 2T disk (X-RAID). There was already 2 disks (2TB) full, only 90GB free, when I added the new disk same size. The device started in...

I can read the logs from the admin-web-interface, but the the device is not making any logs,

although it continuously restarts the initialization cycle. So I dont know why it does it.

Did you download the zip file?  Or are you just looking at the screen?

I inserted the new disk with the NAS powered down.

I did not write down the model of the disk, I should remove it to know, so I dont know it at the moment.

You probably do need to power down the NAS and remove the disk.  It is possible the disk has failed out-of-the-box in a way that is causing the NAS to misbehave.  Then power up the NAS.  If that works, then either just exchange the disk, or test it in a Windows PC using vendor tools (Seagate's Seatools, or WD's Dashboard).

Please do let us know the model.  Most current 2 TB drives use a technology called SMR which is not a good choice for ReadyNAS systems. Also, Netgear's hardware compability list hasn't been touched in years, and should be ignored.  The best option for your NAS is to get a NAS-purposed drive like the Seagate Ironwolf or the WD Red Plus (NOT the WD Red, as it is unfortunately SMR).
