Hi BrianL,
Thank your for your reply. Yes same behavior with and without disks.
Do you mean the mainboard died?
Possible to boot the NAS with a regular ATX PSU just to confirm?
Knowing the old age of the NAS that can go anytime, i did not place any important files into it.
I do not have a backup copy of the data but have an idea how to retrieve them.

Hi KenQuek,
It could be but a faulty PSU is also a possibility. I saw an open ticket under your account and you mentioned that a recent power outage might have caused this. If you want to replace the PSU on your own, I suggest that you check this old thread in the community. If you're open in purchasing a new NAS, that's also an option for you to recover the data. Kindly check this article for more information.
Hope this helps!
Kind regards,
BrianL

Yes BrianL i had to cut short the story due to the character limits.
I browsed through several threads and was impressed that Netgear offered to send replacement power supply to affected users regardless of warranty. Unfortunately my serial number does not seem to fall in that range. :(
Does Netgear has any of the power supply still in stock? Wonder if Netgear is willing to help me, at the same time freeing up inventory space since it is also a discontinued product :p
Last resort for me is to try rewiring an ATX powersupply in attempt to revive the NAS.

Hi KenQuek,
I am not certain if we still have stock for the PSU but take note that this is limited to certain countries or regions. In your case, your option is to rewire an ATX PSU or purchase a new OS 6 unit.
Kind regards,
BrianL
