I have a server here that supports RAID 5, but I know that different RAID controllers have different "raid headers" and if I plug them into it it could corrupt the data alltogether. Does that sound right or are RAID headers standardized for the purposes of data recovery events such as these?
Also, we do the backup weekly, and the device -quit- in the middle of the backup on sunday, so We've lost a weeks worth of work if I can't recover the volume or get the NAS back online :(
