ReadyNAS NV+ RND4000 000D-A201-3ECf stuck after PSU replacement
We had a power outage the other night. When the power returned my four-disc X-RAID ReadyNAS NV+ (not V2) was completely dead and would not power up.
I ordered a replacement power supply and replaced it following the instructions in http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/READYNAS-COMMON/Replacing%20the%20PSU.pdf
Initially I was relieved because after powering up:
- The blue power lamp now started flashing
- The front panel LCD showed ‘Booting Please wait...’
- I could now hear the fan running.
However my relief soon turned to concern as, after some hours:
- The front panel LCD message does not change.
- None of the four disc lamps has lit up.
- The blue power lamp continues to flash but won’t power the ReadyNAS down when pressed.
- RAIDar_6.3.0 returns ‘RAIDar could not find any NETGEAR storage on your network. Check that your storage device is powered on and connected correctly. For more help, visit http://my.netgear.com.’
Has anyone any idea what my next step should be?
Thanks in advance.
Tom

Try removing the disks (labeling them by slot). Then power up the NAS again, and see if RAIDar sees it with "no disks" detected. You'll also see "no disks" on the LCD panel.
If that works, then perhaps installing a scratch disk (not part of the array), and see if the NAS does a factory install to the scratch disk.

Thanks Stephen!
Tried that - no change.
With all four discs removed, half an hour after powering up again (the power up button does work to power up, just not to power down):
- The front panel LCD message still shows the previous message ‘Booting Please wait...’
- None of the four disc lamps has lit up.
- The blue power lamp continues to flash but won’t power the ReadyNAS down when pressed.
- RAIDar_6.3.0 again returns ‘RAIDar could not find any NETGEAR storage on your network. Check that your storage device is powered on and connected correctly. For more help, visit http://my.netgear.com.’
😓
I wish I had better news, but many thanks for your help!
Cheers

It sounds like something on the system board got damaged when the PSU failed.
