ReadyNas NV+ RND4000 V2 - Unable to upgrade firmware from 5.3.5 to 5.3.13

This perhaps could be a browser issue too - I have seen an older post where someone reported a similar issue, but found that doing the update using firefox worked. So maybe try that next.

There isn't much on this. You'd need to install the Enable Root SSH Access add-on from here: https://kb.netgear.com/24586/RAIDiator-5-3-Add-ons That install might also fail if the OS partition is very full.
After that you use a program called putty (for Windows PCs) or terminal (for Macs) to log into the NAS. You use "root" for the username and the NAS admin password.
After that you'd enter
cd //
df . -h
df . -i
The first command will give you the space usage in the OS partition, the second will give you the number of inodes.
If this is a new setup, then another option is to do a factory default from the boot menu. That will reformat the disks and do a clean install, so it will destroy the data and configuration of the NAS. After the default completes, you should be able to update the NAS firmware (assuming it isn't a browser compatibility problem). Then reconfigure the NAS and load your data back onto it.

I can confirm that the firmware was installed successfully when I used Firefox browser on my Ubuntu machine. So thanks StephenB.

The link above has some - though the third-party ones are dated, and might cause some problems.
rnxtras.com also has several ( https://rnxtras.com/readynas-os5-arm ). There is a small charge, but you do get support if you need it.
