ReadyNAS NV+ (RND4000 v3) Won't Boot - Stuck at "Resyncing Volume"
ReadyNAS NV+ is stuck "Resyncing Volume". Now I am desperate to reclaim my data!
I was getting error messages about the USB backup on the RAID system not working but was unable to get the logs displayed. Was also unable to get the system to shutdown via the browser SW. Pulled the power and have never been able to boot the ReadyNAS after that.
Raidar does not detect the system. Booting would (apparently) hang after the disk check. Booted without disk check and got the "Resyncing volume" message (for many days) with disk 2 light (and power button) blinking and other disk lights ON. Pulled power, removed disk 2, restarted (suppressing disk check) and got the same symptoms. HELP!
ReadyNas NV+ (RND4000 v3) - unknown FW version (but recently upgraded to latest)

It looks like there is file system corruption - which means that data recovery is likely needed.
This isn't something I've needed with my own NAS. However
- Netgear offers a data recovery service: https://kb.netgear.com/69/ReadyNAS-Data-Recovery-Diagnostics-Scope-of-Service
- Many users have had success with ReclaiMe software.
- Seagate offers a RAID array recovery service (any vendor's disks), but I've never seen any posts here from someone who's used it.
It is possible to mount NV+ volumes in x86 linux systems (connecting at least three of the four disks). But anything you do on your own risks making the recovery more difficult (or impossible).

I have been reading many of the threads on this topic. One thing that I have not tried is the factory reset, largely because I fear that the disks will be erased and the data lost for sure. I read that upon reset, there is a 10-minute window during which the process of erasure can be halted. I worry, however, that there will be some delay during reboot and after I wear out and walk away, I will miss the 10-minute window. Any thoughts on a reset?
I am prepared to try recovery software. I was warned, however, that such a process is potentially destructive. Is this true? Wouldn't recovery software be a "read-only" sort of activity?

Factory Reset will wipe all your data, the ten minute pause is just a period to cancel it proceding, nothing more
