About 4 days ago, after updating my Intel NIC to the Jan 2012 drivers, I tried disabling Jumbo Frames, just for the heck of it... Of course, I rebooted my NAS after changing the setting.
4 days ago, my read speed was 42MB/s (after the reset). 3 days ago, it was 42MB/s. 2 days ago it was 32MB/s. Yesterday it was 20MB/s. This morning, it's back to a pathetic 7MB/s ?!?!?!? I'm so confused.
I'm guessing that the biggest factor here is the NAS re-boot cycle that somehow helps the speed. I'm gonna test only rebooting it right now and see what happens.
UPDATE -----> Just rebooted and the speeds are still at 7MB/s :(
