ReadyNAS NV+ (sparc) disk issue ...
This is a unique (I think) problem and would appreciate some guidance. My NAS (bought about 5 years ago - only issue so far has been the power supply ... replaced it myself) has four each 1 TB disk...

Why is it "not a good idea"? ... not arguing, but I thought that the old SPARC units would only use the space of the smallest disk, so it would not matter if I went from a 2TB to a 1TB since it already has two each 1TB disks. Could you elaborate please?
Well, based on you saying NO to Q1, I pulled power and re-booted. It came up with disks 1, 2, and 3 installed, but it's running ... and of course it did a quota check ... no issues. Bringing up the dashboard, V4.1.13 and
Ch 1 : SAMSUNG HD103SJ [931 GB] 927 GB allocated
Ch 2 : Seagate ST31000528AS [931 GB] 927 GB allocated
Ch 3 : WDC WD20EARX-22PASB0 [1862 GB] 927 GB allocated
Ch 4 : UNKNOWN [1862 GB]
You can see that disk 4 is confused.
