If you are comfortable with SSH and the Linux environment, you can enable "experimental" SMB2 on a DuoV2. I've not done so, but others have reported it works. Another option would be to access via FTP.
Im not familiar with Linux or FTP either really. I understand what it is, but have not set one up - have been looking for a guide, but not much luck.
Also I left the NAS running overnight, I can now see all the files in windows Explorer - so this was a cache issue. However I still can't copy any files onto it - which is what Im aiming to do.
Did you try resetting the file permissions? (see page 35 of the manual)
Yes I have done this, and no change.
