ReadyNAS NV+ V2 boot menu won't toggle

Question

Hi community,&nbsp;I'm wanting to factory reset my ReadyNAS NV+V2, but when I boot with the Reset button pressed down it won't let me choose any Boot Menu other than Normal. Is there any way of going around this?

What firmware is your NAS running?

One reason for asking is that the product labels are confusing, and many v1 owners think they have a v2.
&nbsp;
A v1&nbsp;

runs 4.1.x firmware
has -100XXX at the end of the part number (XXX is either NAS or a country-specific code)
might say v2 or v3 on the back label, even though it is a v1.

&nbsp;
A v2

runs 5.3.x firmware
has -200XXX at the end of the part number
says v2 on the front panel

I also think I've figured out a long-hand way of starting from scratch, by booting the NAS with a fully formatted disk, which then went through the whole startup process....

Normally you'd do this with a blank disk.&nbsp; The NAS will do a fresh factory install if the disk(s) are blank.&nbsp;&nbsp;But an NTFS formatted disk might have the same effect.&nbsp;

It doesn't take much longer actually, once you get it started you go through the full setup either way.

Exactly as per instruction (I had the same document open). At Point 5, where it is meant to toggle through the boot mode options, initially the lower half of the LCD was was blank, and when I pressed Backup button "NORMAL" came up. Without letting the reset button go, I tried pressing the Backup button more times but it wouldn't change beyond NORMAL.&nbsp;Regardless, I think I've been able to do what I needed to do. Just a bit annoying it doesn't do what the manual says...
