ReadyNAS NV+ v2 doesn't boot
I have a ReadyNAS NV+ v2 (from 2012). Two week ago I powered it down manually (2x power button) and wanted to restart it last week. Problem is it doesn't boot. There is nothing in the display, the ...

Now I disassembled, cleaned and reassembled the ReadyNAS to kill some time and surprisingly it is booting. It is resyncing the 3rd disk which i replaced now.
Is it some sign of age? Can I prevent it from happening again?
FW is RAIDiator 5.3.11 by the way.

Hello JennC,
And thanks!
I can't detect the NAS with RAIDar.
I have installed 4x 2TB discs.
Not sure about the FW version but I tryed to keep it updated.
I tryed pushing and holding the reset button while powering up but I can't enter the boot menu either.

Hello Ansgar,
Do you still remember what RAIDaitor version it has been running before your last update? The reason I am asking is just to see if you have the OS5 or OS4.
You can try connecting the NAS straight to a computer that has the RAIDar. RAIDar should still see the NAS without being connected to the network. The idea to eliminate the possibility of it being not able to get an IP address from the network.
Once it is connected straight to the computer and the RAIDar still does not see it, remove the disks. Please make sure you label them as you have to make sure that they are back to their respective bays when you insert them back to the chassis. Without the disks, the RAIDar should still see this chassis. If it does not, try an older version of RAIDar. But if same problem, you may need to test the disks on diagnostic tools or if you have a scratch/spare disk, insert it to the NAS and see if the same problem.
Regards,

Hi Ansgar,
It is possible that your defective/faulty disk caused the unit to boot properly. While it's resyncing, check if you the ReadyNAS is detected in your network. If it's detected, also check if you can access your files as well as the admin page.
Kind regards,

It didn't boot after I replaced the disk. First after disassemble and reassemble it booted. Maybe something was loose.
I can access the ReadyNAS by the admin page and also the files are accessable. Everything looks like there was no problem at all.
I can just say thank you very much for helping!
